Privacy Policy

Last updated 28 June 2026 · Aligned with India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023
The short version: we only collect what you consent to, use it to show your savings and credit-health insights and match you with regulated partners, never sell your personal data, and let you withdraw consent or delete everything at any time.

1. Who this policy covers

This policy explains how Maximoney Technologies Pvt. Ltd. (“Maximoney”, “we”, “us”) collects, uses, shares and protects your personal data when you use the Maximoney app. For the purposes of India’s Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 (the “DPDP Act”), Maximoney is the Data Fiduciary that determines how and why your data is processed. The app is intended for individuals aged 18 or over who reside in India.

2. What we collect

We collect only what we need to find and act on your savings, and almost all of it is collected with your explicit consent:

  • Identity & contact. Your name, mobile number (verified by a one-time password sent through an SMS gateway), and date of birth.
  • PAN & credit information.Your PAN; and, with your consent, your credit report and score — including loans, cards, credit enquiries and repayment / DPD history — fetched from an RBI-regulated credit-information / data partner (see clause 4).
  • Device SMS signals (consent-gated).If you permit it, the app reads SMS to detect financial and credit signals such as bank debits and credits, EMIs, bill payments, subscriptions and auto-debit mandates, and credit signals like bureau / CIBIL enquiry alerts and loan application or approval messages (including messages that contain no amount). See clause 5.
  • Device & app signals.Your device make, model and operating system, an approximate device value, and — on supported Android devices where permitted — the presence of certain financial or lifestyle apps, used to better understand affordability and your financial profile.
  • Usage data. How you interact with the app, so we can fix problems and improve the product.

3. Why we use your data and our legal basis

We process your data primarily on the basis of the consent you give at each step, and otherwise for the legitimate uses and legal obligations permitted under the DPDP Act. We use your data to:

  • Show you savings and credit-health insights and recommendations across loans, cards, investments, taxes, insurance and idle savings;
  • Build an affordability and financial profile so our suggestions are relevant to you;
  • Check your eligibility and, with your consent, surface offers from regulated lending and financial partners;
  • Provide customer support, keep the service secure, and meet our legal and regulatory obligations.

We do not use your financial data for advertising, and we do not sell your personal data to anyone.

4. How we fetch your credit data

When you consent, we retrieve your credit report and score from an RBI-regulated credit-information / data partner over secure, encrypted channels. Maximoney does not operate an Account Aggregator, and we do not claim to. The credit-information partner is the regulated source of this data; we only request it after you explicitly opt in, and only to the extent needed to produce your insights.

5. SMS, device and app data — consent and withdrawal

Reading your device SMS is optional and requires your permission. When you grant it, messages are classified on your deviceto detect the financial and credit signals described in clause 2; we aim to use them only for financial insight. You can decline this access, and you can revoke it at any time from your device or app settings — doing so stops further reading of your SMS.

Device and app-presence signals are likewise used only to understand affordability and build your financial profile, and only where you have permitted the relevant access.

6. When we share data

We share your data only where it is needed, and never to sell it:

  • Regulated lending and financial partners— only with your consent, and only to fetch offers or complete a switch you approve.
  • Service providers— our SMS gateway, credit-data partner, cloud hosting and analytics providers, each engaged under contract and permitted to use your data only to provide their service to us.
  • Legal and regulatory— where we are required to disclose data by law, regulation or a valid legal request.

We do not sell your personal data and we do not share it for advertising.

7. Security and retention

We protect your data with encryption in transit and at rest, access controls and other safeguards appropriate to its sensitivity. We retain your personal data only for as long as it is needed for the purposes above or as required by law; when it is no longer needed, we delete or anonymise it.

8. Your rights under the DPDP Act

As a Data Principal, you can at any time:

  • Access a summary of the personal data we hold about you;
  • Correct or update inaccurate or incomplete data;
  • Erase your data by deleting your profile (see Delete profile);
  • Withdraw any consent you have given — withdrawal stops further collection for that source and is as easy to do as giving consent;
  • Nominate an individual to exercise your rights in the event of your death or incapacity;
  • Raise a grievance with our Grievance Officer (clause 11).

9. Children and eligibility

Maximoney is intended only for individuals aged 18 or over. We do not knowingly collect personal data from anyone under 18. If you believe a minor has used the app, contact us and we will delete the relevant data.

10. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. When we make material changes, we will notify you in the app or by other appropriate means, and we will update the “Last updated” date above.

11. Grievance Officer and contact

For any privacy question, to exercise a right, or to raise a grievance under the DPDP Act, contact our Grievance Officer at privacy@maximoney.in. We aim to acknowledge and respond within the timelines required by law.

Maximoney is not a lender, broker or financial adviser — we surface options from regulated partners and you decide.
